Missions Daily Prayer Guide 2008
Our missionaries need more than just our money. When the Missions Daily Prayer Guide was created, it was done with the idea that it would work in tandem with the financial contributions to missions. While our financial support is vital to these ministers, so too is our support of prayer. In Romans 1, Paul writes to the church that he without ceasing makes mention of them always in his prayers. And in I Thessalonians, we are commanded to pray without ceasing. As children of God, we know that our prayers are a powerful and necessary support to our partners on the mission field. As we pray over these ministers and their works, we are offering protection, wisdom, favor, provision, and we are seeking God’s answers for their specific needs. Additionally, we are rallying around them as a family should, and we are offering our willingness to stand together with them as they labor. We can think of prayer and financial contribution as twins, born from the heart. Out of the abundance of our hearts, our mouths speak prayers over our partners. And because our hearts are with them, we lay up treasure to accomplish the work of the Lord they are doing . Please take seriously your commitment to missions and know that it does not end with the writing of a check. Use this daily guide as an opportunity to be joined together with our missionaries and to be co-laborers with them as they bring in the harvest. |
