Praise & Worship

At Word of Life Center, praise and worship is not the prelude to preaching, but it is an incredible ministry of leading the congregation into the presence of God, allowing them to experience His power and goodness.

As anointed men and women of God, we bring an offering of worship, which ushers in His presence, bringing salvation, healing, deliverance, and revelation. In the music department, we know that our Father, God, has always desired intimate fellowship with His children, and He has called each one of us to worship Him. By serving Him with our hearts and gifts, we create a holy habitation for Him to dwell in, and we can experience His glory as it fills our lives.

Because our focus in the music department is ministry and not entertainment, we take very seriously our role in each worship service; consequently, the requirements are many, but the rewards are great. We welcome those who desire to use their musical gifts to glorify God. Please find below some key points regarding participation in choir and band:

1. All prospective choir and band members must have completed the 3D program at Word of Life. After completing 3D, interested participants should contact Bryan Dumas and plan on attending the next rehearsal.
2. Rehearsals are on Tuesday nights from 7:00-9:00. Choir and band members who are ministering in a service are required to attend sound checks before the service; they are also required to attend prayer at 9:30 on Sunday mornings. Additionally, there will be special meetings all band and choir members are expected to attend. Out of town ministry trips are not required but are especially rewarding. Each member of the choir and band is expected to practice the assigned music and show up ready to rehearse or minister.
3. We do not audition for choir or band. We welcome those who attend rehearsal and fulfill the requirements set forth in the manual.
4. Band and choir members do not have to sight-read. Many of our members learn their parts by ear.
5. For those who need extra help in playing or singing, our School of Music is a great place to find needed professional instruction.
