Pastor Sam and Becky Carr
Pastor Sam and Becky Carr are the founders and senior pastors of Word of Life Center. Through Pastor Sam’s dynamic and uncompromising teaching of the Word of God and Becky’s passion to lead people to seek the face of God through worship, they have ministered to people all over the world.
Author of several books, Pastor Sam has always challenged and equipped others to face obstacles in life with faith and hope. His teaching inspires his congregation and others worldwide to embrace life with purpose and passion — realizing and fulfilling the plans God has for them.
Becky’s affection for a loving God has inspired others not only to seek the hand of God’s provision but more importantly to know God. Through her heartfelt teaching and worship, she leads others in cultivating a relationship with God, where they find healing, restoration, and peace for facing everyday life.

John Welch • Administrative Pastor
Both Louisiana natives, John Welch with his wife, Sandi, were missionaries in Europe and worked as senior pastors in Wyoming before joining the staff at Word of Life. Drawing on his leadership and ministry experience, John serves as an associate pastor who offers counsel and oversight to the pastoral staff here. Additionally, he helps equip our staff and congregation with the knowledge and tools needed to live and serve with wisdom and excellence through various leadership development programs. He and Sandi have two children. |

Glenn Ware • Associate Pastor
A native of Shreveport, Glenn Ware is a graduate of Word of Life School of Ministry. He has been part of the staff at Word of Life for over eight years. After starting a church in Natchitoches, LA, Glenn rejoined the staff here, serving as an Associate Pastor overseeing several ministries including TLC, Singles Ministry, and various areas of helps ministries. He and his wife of more than twenty-one years, Brenda, have five children. |

Carol Scott • Associate Minister
Carol Scott has been part of the Word of Life staff for over thirteen years, during ten of which she served as Children’s Pastor. Before joining the staff at WOL, Carol graduated from Bible school in San Antonio, Texas, and spent over nine years pioneering children’s ministries in churches throughout Germany and other European countries as well as traveling throughout the United States holding Children’s crusades. Here at Word of Life, Carol now serves as an Associate Pastor, our 3D Administrator, and the head of our 55 Alive ministry. |

Casey & Marta Dees • Children Pastors
Casey graduated Rhema Bible Training Center in 1997, Marta graduated from Word of Life
School of Ministry in 1996. Marta
and I served for four years in Minden, LA as jr. high and youth pastors. Marta also served as the nursery,
toddler and preschool director. The last five years Marta and I
served under my father in law Pastor Bob Farley at Word of Life in
Apache, Oklahoma helping with youth, childrens and praise and worship. Marta has taught preschool and is
currently pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. The vision God has given
Marta and I is to disciple and raise up mighty young men and women of God to
walk in God’s power and fulfill their God given destiny through the teaching of
God’s word. Marta and I have one
daughter, Allison.

Lindsey Carr • Youth Pastor
From an early age, Lindsey Carr knew she wanted to follow in her parents’ footsteps. Now, her passion to reach her generation and see them transformed by the power of God is the driving force behind her dynamic ministry. Challenging students to give their all to God, Lindsey helps young people find and live the life God has planned for them. A graduate of Word of Life School of Ministry, Lindsey serves as the Youth Pastor at Word of Life and has dedicated herself to seeing God’s plan fulfilled in the youth of Word of Life and around the world. |

Josh McElwee • Youth Administrative Pastor
Josh McElwee, a graduate of Oral Roberts University, has a desire to see this generation embrace God and live for Him with an unquenchable devotion. After having worked as both Youth Pastor and Associate Pastor at Trinity Christian Center in Forest Hill, Josh joined the staff at Word of Life serving as the Junior High Pastor and 1830, bringing with him an earnest desire to see young people take hold of all that God has for them and live a life of significance. Josh and his wife, Jennifer, have just welcomed their first child, McKinley. |

Dr. Scott Forrest • School of Ministry Director
Scott Forrest serves as the Director of the Word of Life School of Ministry and is licensed with both Word of Life Center and the Association of Faith Churches and Ministers. Since receiving a call to teach in 1986, Scott has ministered in churches, youth groups, schools, prisons and Bible studies in the Texas and Louisiana areas. He and his wife, Trish, have ministered in the Louisiana prison system since 1992. In 1998, they founded Higher Aviation Ministries, a teaching ministry dedicated to taking people to higher places in God through the knowledge of His word. Scott also works as a Research Assistant Professor of Engineering and Director of the Technology Transfer Center in Shreveport for Louisiana Tech University. He is an active Air Force Reserve pilot and holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He and his wife are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters. |

Bryan Dumas • Music Department / Music School Director
Bryan began attending Word of Life in 2001 after many years as a bandleader and bass player in a variety of bands traveling across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. Feeling a call to move to Shreveport to be near family and to get back to church, he quickly became involved with the Word of Life band and joined the staff in the Maintenance Department. In 2004, Bryan became the WOL Band Director and has worked under Ms. Becky Carr to help realize the vision of the Music Department at Word of Life. He also serves as the bass instructor in the Word of Life School of Music. Bryan and his wife, Lisa, reside in Shreveport with their two sons, Luke and Daniel. |

Ritchie and Donna Skinner • Ride-To-Life
Ritchie and Donna Skinner started Ride to Life in 2002 with a heart to see every life in our community transformed by the power of God. Both Ritchie and Donna attended River Bible Institute in Tampa, Fl. Donna earned her ministerial degree from Bethesda Bible School in California, and Ritchie is a graduate of Word of Life School of Ministry. |
